La g\u00e9omatique a toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 une science de la \u00abv\u00e9rit\u00e9 et de la pr\u00e9cision \u00bb regroupant un ensemble de techniques g\u00e9ographiques. Mais elle a surtout \u00e9volu\u00e9 sur le plan technique et strat\u00e9gique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Avant 1990, la priorit\u00e9 des professionnels \u00e9tait d\u2019am\u00e9liorer la technique en automatisant la cartographie, la collecte de donn\u00e9es, et la mise \u00e0 jour des cartes du territoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peu apr\u00e8s, l\u2019informatisation de la gestion du territoire, ainsi que l\u2019am\u00e9lioration des fonctionnements des organisations \u00e9taient devenues primordiales afin de pouvoir faire \u00e9voluer le march\u00e9 vers l\u2019\u00e9change, la diffusion, et le partage des connaissances g\u00e9ographiques gr\u00e2ce, notamment, \u00e0 de nouveaux outils logiciels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
