Het bedrijf had een jaar eerder ook de eerste laser gebouwd. LiDAR-systemen en het gebruik ervan werden pas echt bekend tijdens de Apollo 15-missie van 1971, waarbij LiDAR werd gebruikt om de maan in kaart te brengen. Daarna bleven de wetenschappelijke toepassingen van LiDAR zich ontwikkelen. Wetenschappelijk onderzoek aan universiteiten zoals Stuttgart in Duitsland bewees de nauwkeurigheid van dit systeem en de evolutie van LiDAR was nog maar net begonnen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-growth\">De groei<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Halverwege de jaren 80 bereikte de GPS-satellietcommunicatie zijn volledige configuratie, waardoor de technologie steeds nauwkeuriger kon worden. Rond de jaren 90 konden fabrikanten van laserscanners LiDAR-sensoren bouwen die 2000 tot 25.000 pulsen per seconde konden produceren.<br>Hoewel ze primitief waren in vergelijking met de instrumenten van vandaag, waren deze instrumenten robuust genoeg om de grote groei te garanderen die de LiDAR-technologie op het punt stond te worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-does-lidar-work\">Hoe werkt LiDAR?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Moderne LiDAR-technologie bestaat uit lasersensoren die vanuit de lucht of via draagbare eenheden, zoals drones, worden ingezet. Wanneer de lasers op het in kaart gebrachte gebied gericht zijn, zenden ze korte lichtpulsen uit. Deze lichtpulsen worden vervolgens weerkaatst op de omringende objecten en geregistreerd. De tijd tussen de uitgaande laserpuls en de gereflecteerde puls kan worden gebruikt om de afstand af te leiden waarop het object zich bevindt, evenals verschillende andere technische gegevens over het object.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-used-in-many-ways\">Op veel manieren gebruikt<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Sinds zijn uitvinding is LiDAR gebruikt in vele revolutionaire toepassingen zoals autonome auto's, onbemande luchtvaartuigen, robotica, beveiliging, enz. Het gebruik van Lidar in autonome auto's markeert ongetwijfeld de grootste technologische vooruitgang sinds de uitvinding ervan. Hoewel de Lidar-technologie nog niet optimaal is voor elektrische auto's, zal deze in de loop der jaren blijven verbeteren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-lidar-s-market\">LiDAR's markt<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>De <a href=\"https:\/\/geo-plus.com\/nl\/punt-cloud-software\/\">LiDAR<\/a> De LiDAR-markt werd in 2019 gewaardeerd op $ 2,25 miljard en zal naar verwachting tegen 2025 een waarde bereiken van $ 4,61 miljard. Noord-Amerika domineert de LiDAR-markt door de groeiende vraag naar 3D-beeldvormingstechnologie in de Verenigde Staten en Canada. Bovendien zijn overheidsinstellingen enthousiast over LiDAR-technologie, wat de groei van de markt zou moeten stimuleren. Groeiende investeringen door giganten als General Motors, Google Inc. en Apple Inc. in autonome auto's bieden nieuwe kansen voor kleine LiDAR-systemen die veelzijdig en tegen lage kosten beschikbaar zijn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De LiDAR-technologie staat nog in de kinderschoenen, maar zal ons in de loop der jaren blijven verrassen.
